Young Film Critic: Fahima is a runner up!

Huge congratulations to Fahima who entered her review of Tales of the Night by Michael Ocelot into the Young Film Critic competition.

She was a runner up in the 7 - 11 category, this is her review:

Michael Ocelot, the French director, has created a beautiful masterpiece that is Tales of the Night. Released on the 25th of May 2012, it is a French movie with English subtitle and has silhouette characters that are like shadow puppets moving against an intricate and vibrant background.

Tales of the Night conveys real emotion throughout the six short stories within the film even though you cannot see the facial expressions of characters and the fact that it is in French. This animation is truly outstanding, set in a variety of locations from Tibet to Medieval Europe and Mexico. Two actors and a director perform 6 plays in an abandoned theatre. Before every movie it shows the idea behind it.

My favourite story was the one about the boy who never lied. He still forgave the Princess, even though she had been selfish ad made him kill his horse just so that he might lie and she and her father would win half of the other Kingdom. I would recommend this move to all ages. Tales of the Night reaches out to a wider audience. It has action for children and some love for the older audience. Personally, I think it was a great movie. This movie could be improved as all of the six stories are about love. To make the movie more interesting I would suggest that not all of them be about love. However, saying that, I thoroughly enjoyed it and am giving it a 7/10.
